Final Bout Special Stage West
Leading up to Final Bout Special Stage West was full of uncertainty. None of us would have expected that so many changes to our day to day lives were going to happen in just a matter of days.
Changes began happening day-by-day towards the end of the week before Final Bout SSW, with notice on Thursday that the event will no longer have any spectators. Everyone was bummed, with the cold rainy weather being the icing on the cake of the sad news. Everyone local was still able to enjoy the Final Bout Pre-Meet that Friday as one of the last very large group gatherings that weekend, aside from the event itself. (I will make a separate post and upload of the Pre-Meet.)
The weekend still went normal, with dine-in restaurants and stores remaining open for everyone. Drivers, staff, and media continued to prep for Final Bout and would-have been spectators, along with other automotive fans, luckily had a live-stream of the event to look forward to (I believe hosted by Hoonigan and Falken.)
Final Bout Special Stage West was the perfect distraction for all of us automotive and drifting fans. We ran head-in not knowing what will happen in the world after the event. If there were still going to be drift events in the next weeks.. or if this was going to be the last large drift event in the U.S. for a long time.
Finally, to the good stuff. Enjoy some photos from the event:
Always a good time seeing Auto Factory Realize at the track. If you look through previous galleries/posts on the site, you’ll be able to spot their teal cars.
Congrats to Team Hammertime! These guys were driving their hearts out all day with the largest tandem trains.
